“The difference between a ‘man’ and a ‘father’: the former shares his genes, the latter his life.”Dr. Peter Meuser
I was born in Wuppertal, Germany in 1951, speak German and English (second language) and came to Canada as a landed immigrant in late 1950’s with my parents. I love anything to do with boats, classic cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and extensive world travels to experience different cultures and peoples. I prefer “road-trips” and out-of-the-way scenic motels and beer to fancy chain-hotels and pricey wines.
My wife Allison and I have been married for decades and have raised a blended-family of now five amazing adults. We raised them in the same Sidney oceanfront home that we continue to live in. Four of them live within a 5-minute drive from our fridge!
Our adult children and three lovely granddaughters join us frequently for family activities like boating and world travels. We enjoy our “mini-yacht” year-round (a 42′ Sea Ray Aft-Cabin Power Vessel) named “Kiss My Aft” in deference to the aft-cabin configuration; for decades we’ve enjoyed an entire month on our boat in Desolation Sound or the neighbouring San Juan Islands (USA). We’ve travelled extensively internationally to wide-ranging destinations and in particular love Mexico and its wonderful people; with or without our “gang”, we’ve visited Mexico dozens of times.
